Ate Jen

Here is a picture the first time I met her. I was 3 years old then.  This was at the Music Museum on her comeback concert after she had baby AJ. Me and my Tita watched her concert. She was so pretty that after the concert I ran straight to her backstage.  I said " excuse me can I have a picture with you?", she turned around, smiled at me and hugged me for a pose.

She was really nice. Before I left her dressing room, she gave me balloons to take home. I asked for her phone number and she wrote it down in a piece of paper and gave it to me.

Two days before my fourth birthday, I dialed her number and told her if I can invite her to attend my birthday party. She still remembered me when I said "this is Owie Boy" the kid in your concert :) I was really glad when she said yes and asked where will it be. Then I told her the place and I said "see you!". My Yaya thought I was joking.

Then when my birthday came, and Ate Jen came, everyone was surprised. They can't believe it.

Look at this picture. That was when she arrived, my mom, my Yaya and my Lola were really surprised. And me? I was really really happy :)   :)    :)

I love Ate Jen. She was really nice. She made me really very happy on my 4th birthday. She ate with me, she stayed until the party was done.

And you know what, she also invited me to come to AJ's birthday!

This was during AJs first birthday :) She did not forget about me. That's why I really love her :) She is so nice with kids. Baby AJ is  lucky to have a mom like her :)

After more than  a year, we again bumped into each other. Where? Here.

My modeling agency called if I want to audition in a film. I was glad to go and they got me. To my surprise, Ate Jen is the lead role.

Being in Ate Jen's movie, "Rosario" was a lot of  fun because she was there. There were 3 kids, me, Elijah and Louise. I had a lot of fun... and a lot of playing...

And playing...

And playing! :)

Last August,  Ate Jen invited me to come to AJ's 2nd birthday :)

I thank Papa Jesus because he continues to shower me with people who molds me to being a good person.

And oh, by the way,  the guy in the picture below? He's also nice to me, like Ate Jen :)

Ang Tanging Ina Mo Last Na To

Backtrack.

Two years ago, on Valentine's Day, I, my Lola and my Tito Ray went to Manila Hotel to watch a concert. I heard the concert was called "Eye Eye". What? I'm not sure I heard it right. Who cares?   But then, I was really curious.

Lola Nita and Tito Ray after the Concert at the Manila Hotel.

I was three years old and I did'nt know who Aiai delas Alas was. The venue was nice and huge and it was like my Valentine date was my Lola. A few minutes after we arrived, the show started with a nice song number of a lady, who does not sing like Charice, but  was really funny that I keep on laughing and laughing. I thought I can only get so interested to watch High School Musical or Phoenis and Ferb in concert, but this lady is REALLY funny. I got so excited that I grabbed a small balloon and ran to the stage to give it to her in awe. To my surprise, she looked at me, reached out her hand, got the balloon and said, "thank you, you're so sweet".  I returned back to my seat and watched her do her comic. In the middle of the show, while she was talking to the audience, she went down the stage and went to where our table was. She went beside me and said over the microphone "What's your name Little Boy? " I said, "Owie Boy (with a smile)". Then she said "Do you know how to speak in Mandarin?" I said "Yah". And then she said "Okay, let's see, Ni Hao Ma? " (how are you) And I answered, "Wo Hen Hao" (im good). Then, we exchange more than a couple of Mandarin praises. To our delight, that conversation entertained the audience. She then said, "You made my day Owie Boy! :) " Then she left our table and went back onstage.

I didn't know her name then, but one magical thing happened to me. For the first time, I have loved the feeling of  the audience laughing and wooing in awe  as they watched my conversation with her. That night, I wished to be like her- a performer, and also an actor.  Nah,  that was impossible.

And um, its not "Eye Eye" pala. Her name was Aiai delas Alas :)

Being in the movie.

Who would ever imagine that my first movie as an actor 2 years after that was with Aiai delas Alas? The first movie where I have appeared was Rosario, but the first movie where I was granted a role as a contract star (really an actor na, huh) was "Ang Tanging Ina Mo Last Na To". I played Oogie, Ina Montecillo's (Aiai delas Alas) grandson from Niki Valdez.

Tita Aiai delas Alas and I during the shoot of Ang Tanging Ina Mo Last Na To.

Working with Tita Aiai was challenging. She was always on time, she was very into her role. She was very focused. That's why I was motivated to do the same thing. I was happy that I'm learning all these things so I can be a good actor too. There were good times as well as bad times. But I was glad that my family was always with me to explain things that I don't really understand because I'm only 5 years old.

My scene with Tita Aiai delas Alas in Ang Tanging Ina Mo Last Na To.

I admire Direk Wenn Deramas. He was very professional and very focused in his job. Maybe that 's why his films really make it big. When I look at him, I remember my Tito Ray. He was really like Tito Ray when at work. They were perfectionists.

I love Direk Ricky Rivero. He was so so nice. He is a hard worker. He makes sure I understood the scene, and if I forget my lines, he's always there to whisper  my lines.  He is so patient to me. He is really an excellent Direk for kids :)

Direk Ricky Rivero teaching me during the shoot. He was really such a nice guy.

It was a great experience being an actor. Being in Ang Tanging Ina Mo. It was like a part of my school. I love school. I love learning. I love being with kids and with my teachers. In Tanging Ina, the adults were my teachers - they showed me good things (that's what I need to learn) and few bad things :)  (that's what I need not do)  and the kids like Xyriel Manabat became my playmates off shoot :) .

Playing with Xyriel Manabat during shooting breaks.

This is the trailer of the movie. It's really really funny :) I remember my mom- this movie is really for great moms :)

Attending Father Faller's Mass

Last year, my Lola and I went to attend the mass by Father Faller in Baguio. We will pray with him so that my Lola's tummy will get better. I can still remember that I joined the long line  near the altar and then I waited.  Then,  Father Faller approached me, held my hand and whispered a prayer.  I also prayed. After that I went to a deep sleep and woke up lying on the floor. That was really cool, like it was magical :) When I opened my eyes, he was smiling. My Lola said I fell asleep because the Holy Spirit came on me :) After the mass, I was able to talk to Father Faller and thank him.  He smiled and he told me I will be a child star someday. I just smiled, he really guessed that I prayed to be a childstar someday, but I thought then it was so impossible.

I never knew that my prayer will come true :) I am now a contract star of Star Cinema and my first movie with them was Tanging Ina :) . Look at the poster I posted here :) it says "Introducing Owie Boy Gapuz and Xyriel Manabat" :) Isn't it great! :) Thank you Papa Jesus! :) Mwah!

Waiting for my turn for Father Faller's prayers.

While Father Faller is whispering his prayers.

Perfect Score!...

Today was my 2nd week of class at my new school.

Yesterday I learned about Matter- Solids, Liquids and Gases. This was the topic of my test. I'm glad and proud that I  got a perfect score! Yipee!

When I went home, I showed this to Mom and she told me to write about it here. She was so proud coz my lessons are already Grade three in level. I'm still in Kinder but my teacher Joan was so cool she made me learn all these things easily :)

I love school :)

Artista na si Yaya ko! :)

Hello, I'm back again, I am Owie Boy. I am so excited to tell you about my yaya. Do you know, she is an actress already : )

Her name is Yaya Myra. She said she used to work as a caregiver in a big big but old house in Quezon City. Her work was just easy. She takes care of a Lola Mimi. They were only two in that big house. And they only use a lamp shade.  Most of the time, Yaya Myra tells me stories about Lola Mimi. She calls her Lola also, like what I call my lola :). Yaya Myra had some ghost stories about the mansion. She told me sometimes Lola Mimi tells her that someone who looked exactly like her was there in Lola's room before she even came inside... or sometimes, she sees Lola talking to someone invisible... Yaya Myra left Lola when Lola died in her sleep. It was late night then... and only Yaya Myra was left fixing her. When Lola's children came home from the US, Yaya Myra left the house already to look for another place to work for.

The next Job Yaya Myra had was more exciting, she told me. Because her next boss was an actress. That was her initial feeling. But after her first day of work, she told me she always cry everyday. You know why? Because her job was to feed Boss, a huge, black Rotweiller. She was really scared everyday because she might be bitten anytime. Aww. :(

She resigned after a week and then she met my mamu. And she thought I was cute so she became my Yaya. I like her because she is nice to me and she always play with me. I promised her I will make her an actress someday, and so I asked my mom to help me make my Yaya an actress.

This was during the first day of my shooting for the movie Rosario. That is my driver Rommel. The one in Blue is my favorite Yaya,  Yaya Myra :) . The one in white is my Yaya Joy. Guess who was behind me fixing my skimpy costume? That was my Mamu who really takes time to be with me.  She was shy you know. :)

I really asked my mom to help me, so she talked to the Talent Coordinator. Now, look at these pictures as I tell you how she became an actress!

Hair and Make- up: by Kuya Warren Munar... wow.

Ooops I forgot to tell you that my mom also requested that Yaya Joy be an actress too.
Look at this! Cool naman yan Yaya. Ate Mickey, my favorite nice celebrity Stylist pa ang nagstyle sa yo :)

And here they are na... jan ja ra rannnnnn!

Do you wanna see the scene where they appeared? Let's see...

This is the scene for my Yaya Myra. Watch the movie "Rosario" ha. I will not tell you her role :) So, lights, camera... action!
